They are individual pieces of art.\u201d<br \/>\nShe works with semi-precious stones, Swarovski crystal, freshwater pearls, Sterling Silver, gold vermil and her own handcrafted polymer clay beads.\u00a0 Janine started making jewelry after taking a summer class at the DeCordova Museum of Art in Concord, MA. She was taught how to make twisted silver wire rings and she was instantly hooked. One day she discovered polymer clay- the possibilities of the medium are endless. It can be formed to replicate a semi-precious stone such as turquoise. It can look like the glass made by the Italian glassmakers who make Millefiori glass-which is a thousand flowers captured in bright colors in slices of glass. Images can be transferred to the clay to produce picture beads. You can also suspend fibers and crystals inside the clay.\u00a0 Janine has taken courses in stringing and wirework, been a member of craft guilds, jewelry designer groups, acquired a Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Graphic Design, Paints with oil and acrylic and is also a professional florist which is helpful in all aspects of jewelry design.\u00a0 Her term paper was on jewelry. \u2013 Of course.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Janine has been making jewelry since she was 14. \u201cWhat makes my jewelry so unique is that each piece is individually handcrafted and no two are alike.
